Job Summary

Penryn College has a national reputation for PE and Lifestyle, Sport and Leadership with some of the best school facilities in the South-West of England.

We are looking to appoint two inspirational, dynamic and forward thinking Teachers of Physical Education and Lifestyle. You will have a track record of excellent classroom practice, be committed to high standards of learning and student progress with the energy and vision to build on current progress and have ambitions for yourself and our school. An expertise in a broad range of sports is essential, a specialist in games activities, OAA or Fitness would be an advantage.

The role includes the high level delivery of the KS3 lifestyle curriculum, GCSE PE and BTEC Sport, alongside the support and delivery of the extensive out of hours learning programme and inter school fixtures offered at the college. High standards of professionalism and a passion for excellence will be very important as will a willingness to devote time and energy to the job in and out of school hours.

These are full-time appointments to start in September 2019.

Penryn College is a lively thriving college with an excellent reputation who cater for boys and girls aged between 11 and 16 years with a current number on roll of 1145 and we pride ourselves on offering the very best for our students.

Our modern school building, has a great range of resources, including an information rich environment, state of the art sporting facilities including a 6 badminton court size sports hall, the latest generation astro turf pitch, our own climbing wall and iPad’s for all students and staff.

Our College buildings and 10 acres of grounds are used extensively by the community for sporting activities, performances and fund raising activities. Our unique relationship with surrounding primary schools - known as the "Penryn Partnership" - helps primary children to settle in to the college whilst adjusting to their new environment.
