Are you a current or former Headteacher?  Do you believe in the power of sport to offer life lessons, develop life skills and affect young people’s life chances?  Are you passionate about building a brighter future for the next generation? If so, then a Lead Headteacher Ambassador role with the Youth Sport Trust is the role for you.

As a Lead Headteacher Ambassador you will support us in creating a world leading PE and sport system that reaches, inspires and engages all young people whatever their age or ability. By working with us, you’ll be helping youngsters achieve their full potential by ensuring they have access to high quality physical education and sport.

The Headteacher Ambassador network is a group of experienced educationalists who are committed to promoting the power of PE and sport as a strategic intervention that can contribute to pupil achievement, attendance, behaviour and school improvement.

The Headteacher Ambassador network is led by a number of former Headteachers. The Lead Headteachers work closely with the Headteacher Ambassadors to ensure they are supported with the right evidence base, policy briefings and networking to undertake their role.

The role of the Lead Headteacher Ambassador is threefold: to Champion, to Advocate and to Influence. You will be a proactive voice in Headteacher Association networks and establish local Headteacher alliances to support the strategic planning and implementation of government and other investment.  You will also play an essential role in advising other networks beyond education, such as public health or community sport on how best to work with schools.
