Job Summary

As you will be aware during the past few years the Youth Sport Trust has extended its development support, by recruiting a team of first class professionals who have strong coaching skills and the potential to mentor others in the school sport network. This has proved to be extremely successful and we are delighted to be in a position to invite individuals who are currently either undertaking the role of School Games Organisers or those with a sound knowledge of the School Games to apply for a Development Coach role.

We wish to enhance our established national team of highly skilled PE and sport professionals by recruiting to parts of the country where we have some capacity requirements, in particular we are looking to recruit for the following areas;

London,
Berkshire,
Oxfordshire,
Hampshire,
Lancashire,
Greater Manchester,
Somerset

You will be joining a team who are deployed regionally to coach and mentor local peers to develop their practice to ensure that all primary, secondary and special schools are developing their Physical Education, School Sport And Physical Activity offer to enhance the lives of all young people.  The aim of the team is to ensure high quality and sustainable delivery, through capacity building and investment into the school system. 

In return for a time commitment all successful individuals will be reimbursed through their host school at a rate of £220 per day. We anticipate those involved will also benefit from the experience of working with other professionals and in other school contexts. Numbers of paid release days are negotiable. All successful candidates will become members of the Youth Sport Trust’s Learning Academy.  The Learning Academy ensures that we are able to support colleagues undertaking the role through engaging with a quality assurance process and identifying networking opportunities to ensure that you remain at the forefront of developments and programmes. You will be ably supported in your role through a regional team and from our team of regional Senior Development Coaches.
